1959 Porsche 356A Carrera 1600 GT Speedster

Chassis:

84945

Engine:

95016 (one digit from the original no. 95017)

Background:

One of just 14 Carrera GT Speedsters equipped with the plain-bearing Type 692/3 four-cam engine and among the final Speedsters produced by Porsche.

Finished in its factory-correct Silver Metallic (608) over a black interior, this example was comprehensively restored by Tom Caruso of Contour Metal, with the engine and mechanical systems rebuilt by Jeff Adams of Speedsport Tuning. Factory GT equipment includes aluminum body panels, aluminum/steel wheels, an 80-liter fuel tank, and 60mm front drum brakes.

The restoration has earned significant concours recognition, including First in Class at the 2021 Greenwich Concours and 295.1 of 300 possible points at the Porsche Club of America Parade Concours, where it received both the Gmünd Award and the Honorary Judges’ Choice Award.
